The word Pacific Ocean means Peaceful Sea. The Pacific Ocean is one of five and largest continent on this planet and stretches from Arctic Ocean to the Southern Ocean. It occupies approx 33% of area or surface of the earth (63.6 million square miles).

This Ocean is large more than all the combined rest of 4 continents. It is huge and covers the most landmass on the earth. The border of Pacific Ocean in west touches Asia and Australia. And in east it touches North and South America.

1. Pacific Ocean has huge numbers of massive volcanoes about 75000. A lot fire is available in the basin of Pacific Ocean.

2. The Pacific Ocean is also known for containing the great barrier reef. Which is longest in the world and spread in around 2300 kilometers.

3. The average depth of Pacific Ocean is nearby 3800 meter. It is also the deepest with deepest trenches not only the biggest.

4. The diameter of Pacific Ocean is more than 5 times of moon’s diameter at the widest point.

5. The Pacific Ocean contains the most numbers of islands in the world. More than 25000 islands are exists in Pacific Ocean.

6. The deepest point in the Pacific Ocean is The Marina Trench. Which is 10920 meter deep in sea, more than the height of Mount Everest.  

7. Pacific Island is massive in terms of size and is capable to affect the climate change in the entire world. Which has been started already.

8. New Guinea is the world’s second largest island and is belongs to The Pacific Ocean.

Many countries are dotted in The Pacific Ocean like Kiribati, Tuvalu, Nauru, Palau, Vanuatu, Tonga, Micronesia, Samoa, Fiji and Solomon.

Kiribati is well known as The Republic of Kiribati. It is a sovereign and independent country of The Pacific Ocean and situated at equator. Kiribati is made of many islands such as Banaba Islands, Gilbert Islands, Phoenix Islands and Line Islands. Kiribati’s indigenous population is nearby 1 lakh. And it is badly affected by Climate Change.  2 Islets has been already submerged underwater and evacuated.

 Tuvalu is country situated in the Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and Australia. And it is also a sovereign and independent country. It is 4rth smallest country of the world. Tuvalu is also affected badly due to ClimateChange. They have only one airport in the Tuvalu, which is on the threat and drowning in the water slowly.

Nauru is the 3rd smallest country of the world with having the power to vote in UN. It is situated in The Pacific Ocean and is special because of its Kidney Bean shape. Nauru is the closest country to the Kiribati’s Banaba Island. It’s very unfortunate that Nauru is the unhealthiest country in the world due to their habits of eating unhealthy food. They are more depended on Australia for their daily need items. Also Australian dollar is the only currency which runs here.

And one rare thing to know about this country, Tonga is the only country in the world which is completely and officially closed on Sundays. The indigenous population of Tonga is nearby 101000. Agriculture is growing here day by day and they mainly produce the crops of coffee, taro, coconuts, sweet potatoes, and vanilla beans.
