The Solomon Islands is country of thousands of small Islands
in the southern region of The Pacific Ocean. It is a sovereign state. Solomon
was colonized by Britain in 1893. And get freedom in 1978 from British rule.

Islands and Its Culture
1. English is
their official language. But the total 74 languages are registered and spoken
in Solomon Islands.
2. Majority of
people are Christians here. Education is not mandatory here in results 60% of children
even don’t have the access to primary education.

3. It’s diverse
country. People of many religions live with communal harmony.
4. Before 1997,
Solomon economy was based on small scale farming. In Solomon more than 600000 people
lived in dense rainforests and small coastal villages.
5. But after 1997
A lots has changed here in Solomon Islands. A Massive gold mine was discovered
up in the Solomon Island Mountains in 1997.Which contains million ounces of
volcanic gold.

6. In results
more than 3000 locals are expert diggers. These people earn very healthy amount
everyday. But they don’t go to school. They are full time diggers. All diggers
think like going to school is just waste of time and money because they earn
lot money daily.
7. Several
villages are called gold ridge in Solomon Islands because of gold mining. They
live in temporary houses there in camps but they all have good houses in good
areas.
8. Sometimes they
dig whole day and sometimes a bit less. They get average 150 grams volcanic
gold each daily.
9. All the miners
are settled in the camps nearby central Guadalcanal Island.
10. For digging
they use the simplest methods dig up the ore by using shovels and wash it out
in puddles. They do very hard work. However it’s not easy to do. A lot energy
and force required to do this exercise.
11. Also this is
not a clean job because all the diggers have to go in the mud. As of Solomon is always a hot, humid and most
of the times rainy country as well. This is not match with anyone’s standard
because they are covered from head to toe in mud. Just because they want to
make money they do it.
12. With the help
of this hard earned money they buy cars, clothes and many other things required
to live a good life.
13. So if they
want to get rich they start digging. But they are also crumbling their rainforests
with the digging. And this is a threat too for climate change.
14. Solomon is a
country with full of beautiful beaches and swaying coconut trees.

15. There is one
thing which is special about Solomon Islands Culture. Just like Russia and
Sweden, Majority of children and adults have natural blonde hairs unlike darker
skin. They don’t know the exact reason but maybe it is because of heavy diet of
fish or sun exposure. So people here are with bright blonde hairs and dark
skin.
16. They are
suffering with savage and frequent earthquakes and also with the climate change.

17. The climate
is worst here, humid all over the year. Mainly they survive on fishing. Solomon
is on threat because of overexploitation of its rainforests.
