Falkland or Islas Malvinas is an archipelago which is a British
overseas territory. It is a remote island of 740 small islands situated in
south Atlantic. It is small and
beautiful country with attractive natural landscapes and amazing wildlife.

Indigenous population and
civilization does exist here and people live here in harmony. Their total
populations is approx 3300 in entire country but most of them approx 2200 lives
in world’s one of the smallest capital Stanley.

Even though Stanley is more than 8000 miles from England. They first came here
in the start of 19th century.

3:- How It Look
Like:- Stanley the capital of Falkland looks like a small village of United
Kingdom. All the streets in Falkland are narrow and straight. No advertising hoardings
here. Traffic is almost nothing here in result there is no red lights.

4:- Their Flag:- Falkland
flag is a mix of defaced Blue Ensign and British flag in the corner. They first
adopted this on 25th January 1999. They have many Souvenirs shops.
5:- Currency In
Falkland:- They have their own currency Falkland pounds backed by sterling
(The official currency of United Kingdom.) , which only runs here.

6:- Falkland
language:- Majority of Falklanders speak British English but in little bit
of thicker accents.
7:- Public Transport
and Communication:- They have double Decker red buses and red telephone
booths here for public uses. All drive here on the left side of road.

Food:- They like to eat fish and chips with pint of beers. There are many
pubs all looks like British. No recognizable chain is available here like Pizza
Hut, McDonald, and Starbucks. But there are verity of supermarkets and restaurants.
9:- Banks and ATMs:-
They don’t have any central bank but only one standard charted bank in their
capital Stanley and no ATM. This only bank provides them the facilities of retail,
commercial and wholesale banking.
10:- Newspapers:-
Falklanders have only one newspaper Penguin News in entire country. Which is
the only medium of print media here to provide all the news to their residents.

11:- Argentina and Britain
are fighting for the sovereignty of Falkland:- Everything looks very peaceful
and people here are very friendly and kind. And in the other hand Politics is
not so peaceful here.
12:- Argentina and Britain are fighting from a
long time for the sovereignty of Falkland. Following are some facts about this
long live dispute.
a:- In 1833 Britain
first started their rule here in Falkland. But from the beginning Argentina is
always mentioning this claim that Falkland island is 500 kilometer away from east
of their shore.
b:- In result
after 99 years a war broke out between Argentina and Britain when Argentina invaded
and occupied the Falkland and South Georgia.
c:- After 3 days
later British comes up with their ships and a bloody war took place and fought
over 10 weeks on nearby mountains. That costs around 10000 killings of people
and in last Argentina surrendered.
d:-A referendum took place in 2013 and 99.8% citizens of
Falkland voted in favor to remain a British territory overseas. But a dispute
still exists with Argentina Today.

13:- What Falklanders
do for survival or their Jobs:- Very interesting unemployment rate is noting here, it is less than 1% here.
But most of the jobs are not for whole year in a nutshell jobs here are seasonal. Such as farming or growing vegetables and
sheep rearing to sell milk, fiber and wool. In Falkland sheep are in huge
numbers and you can assign 160 sheep per head for Falklanders. Also many other
jobs are available here in government departments like working in city council,
at the airport and in public school as a teacher and so on.
So Falkland is a beautiful and happy country. Everybody
should come out from their comfort zones and visit the Falkland’s extremely beautiful
nature and landscapes.
